WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU 🍋
You know, I often look to God and I’m amazed at His works. He always has a way of redirecting you, and really surprising you as well. I’ve reflected many times on how His plan has unfolded in my life and while it was often a painful experience, it was divine. This past week and a half, His plan has been boldly demonstrated in my life. He is sovereign. He is remarkably good.
In a sequence of events that was no doubt orchestrated by God, I learned that I have two pulmonary embolisms. TWO. One in each lung. I sit in awe of God’s goodness and grace. I continue to weep as I am overwhelming thankful for His provision. I don’t fit the mold for this diagnosis, as my clinical provider told me. I went from being physically active to taking blood thinners and limiting intense activity. All in a day. This is my new reality. I’ve never felt more humbled as I am forced to rethink my priorities.
I don’t know why this happened to me, but I do know that I serve a gracious Father who has my bests interests in His hands. I’m a healthy 35 year old who gets to keep loving on my husband and boys, all because of Him. His divine grace!
As I sat on the emergency room bed and received a personal call from my provider who led me to that very moment, I will forever be grateful. Her words continue to replay in my mind. “Hannah, you have purpose here.”
I don’t think it’s coincidence this was the verse of the day as the whirlwind of events unfolded.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
”
So when life throws lemons your way, wash those things off, make yourself some tasty lemonade, and thank The Lord for His provision. After all, He teaches us His best lessons when life’s a little bitter.
God is constant even when life isn’t. He is good, and I am forever thankful. 🍋
