Home Tour
When we decided to sell our home last August, I loved the idea of styling each room to make it presentable. I knew the blankets needed to be perfectly angled (thanks to Pottery Barn), the beds perfectly made and everything needed a unique place. And oddly enough, I obsessed over those little things… Just ONE DAY on the market and five showings later, we received three offers! Though we lived in a pretty desirable area, I know the way the house presented itself played into the successful showings.
As we decided to start looking for a new home, we walked through so many that were cluttered and had stuff thrown in closets as if no one would find the hidden treasures. News Flash: Buyers open closets too! It was then that I realized the true need and value to style/stage a home appropriately whether the intent was to sell or remain bunkered down in the desired space. We toyed with the idea of buying a fixer upper and finally landed on building. Right when our house plans were finalized and we went to meet with a developer in the neighborhood we loved, we found our home. The house was in great condition, but the style was not my taste, so thankfully we were able to make this dream become reality by adding our favorite touches. During the transition from selling our home and moving into our new one, we spent time renting a smaller home and it really made me develop a love for minimalism.
I have read books to learn how to live a more minimalistic life, decluttered more than you would ever know, and learned how to style simply. And I love the freedom of having less and being able to really live in our space.
Welcome to our Fresh Haven... we actually live here with a toddler and another on the way!
Not featured: Guest rooms, toddler room and bonus/playroom. I'll share those secrets soon too!
